The Last Kingdom
The Last Kingdom. The Last Kingdom is a British historical fiction television series based on Bernard Cornwell's The Saxon Stories series of novels. Uhtred was a name found in the ancestor's family tree and little is known of his life outside of being Lord of Beddanburg.
The Average Tomatometer is the sum of all season. The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die closes with a somewhat ambiguous final scene; however, the most likely scenario seems to be that Uhtred eventually succumbed to his injuries and died after swearing fealty to Aethelstan. This story introduces Uhtred of Bebbanburg, a Saxon noble who is kidnapped by Danish Vikings as a young child and is assimilated into their culture, religion and language before a series of events lead him into the service of King Alfred of Wessex and his participation in multiple battles.
The Last Kingdom series five landed on Netflix last year, and was sadly confirmed as the show's final season.
With the end of The Last Kingdom on Netflix, the epic finale to the story of Uhtred of Bebbanburg will be told through the movie, Seven Kings Must Die.
The biggest addition to The Last Kingdom's regular cast is Aethelstan's new trusted advisor, Ingilmundr, a Danish-born Christian who shows a powerful influence over King Edward's successor. Uhtred and Brida are fugitives, running from Aelfric; Uhtred pleads his innocence to a Viking warlord, but he is not believed. The Last Kingdom: With Alexander Dreymon, Eliza Butterworth, Arnas Fedaravicius, Mark Rowley.
